1. Will ATELIER de Hoteles continue offering Covid-19 tests at their resorts?

As of July 1, 2022, Covid-19 testing will only be available at an additional cost and as follows:

  • Guests of ATELIER Playa Mujeres: Antigen tests will be available at the hotel's doctor's office. Appointments must be previously scheduled through the Concierge, or with an assigned Butler (applies to categories that include the Butler Service).
  • Guests of ÓLEO Cancun Playa: Antigen tests will be available at the LabCare clinical laboratory, located in terminals 2, 3, and 4 of Cancun International Airport.
  • Guests of the three resorts will also have the option of going to the LabCare clinical laboratory located in downtown Cancun, or to a different laboratory of their choice.

2. What is the cost of antigen and PCR tests?

To know the cost of the tests, please approach the Concierge desk as they may change without prior notice. ATELIER de Hoteles offers guests of the three resorts a preferential price on antigen tests performed through the LabCare clinical laboratory.

3. Is a minimum stay at any of the resorts required to obtain the preferential price of the antigen test?

The preferential price is available to all guests of any ATELIER de Hoteles resort and does not require a minimum stay.

4. How far in advance should I have the antigen or PCR test?

Many countries have begun to remove restrictions on the entry of citizens, residents, and tourists, however, you must review the requirements of the country you will be traveling to after checking out of the hotel.

5. Can I request an antigen test to know if I am infected, even if I am not going to travel to any country that requires it?

All guests who wish to take an antigen or PCR test to know if they are infected can take the test, especially if they have any of the known symptoms or general feelings of sickness. All tests have an additional cost.

6. Are the tests carried out by the medical team of ATELIER de Hoteles?

At ATELIER Playa Mujeres, antigen tests are performed through the doctor's office. In case of requiring a PCR, the tests are taken directly in the LabCare clinical laboratory located in downtown Cancun, as well as in terminals 2, 3, and 4 of Cancun International Airport.

Guests of ÓLEO Cancun Playa who require a test, either antigen or PCR, can go to the LabCare clinical laboratory that is located in downtown Cancun, as well as in terminals 2, 3, and 4 of the Cancun International Airport.

7. Where should I pay for my antigen or PCR test?

Guests of ATELIER Playa Mujeres must pay for their antigen test directly at the hotel's doctor's office when they attend their appointment.

The payment of PCR tests, as well as antigen tests for guests of ÓLEO Cancun Playa, must be paid directly to the representatives of the laboratory at the time of the appointment.

Both the doctor's office and LabCare accept debit and credit cards, as well as cash.

8. What should I do to order any of the antigen or PCR tests?

The tests must be requested and scheduled directly through the Concierge area of each resort.

9. Can I schedule my appointment to have the antigen or PCR test on any day and time?

Appointments to attend the sampling can be scheduled in the Concierge area, however, you must bear in mind that the dates and times are subject to availability and must be made at the times pre-established by the doctor's office and the laboratory.

11. Where are antigen and PCR test samples collected?

Sample collection is done based on the following:

  • At ATELIER Playa Mujeres, the antigen sample is taken in the hotel's doctor's office.
  • Antigen tests for guests of ÓLEO Cancun Playa, as well as samples for PCR tests, are taken directly at the LabCare clinical laboratory located in downtown Cancun or terminals 2, 3, and 4 of the Cancun International Airport.

The cost of transportation to attend the appointments scheduled in the laboratory is not included in the price of the antigen or PCR test and must be covered by the applicant.

12. Can I go to another laboratory in the city to take the antigen or PCR test?

Both at ATELIER Playa Mujeres and ÓLEO Cancun Playa, the Covid-19 detection testing service is provided by external providers so you can go to the medical center or clinical laboratory of your choice. The prices offered at ATELIER de Hoteles resorts are preferential for our guests.

13. How long does it take and how do I receive my Covid-19 test results?

The form and delivery times will be notified by the service provider at the time of attending your appointment to take the sample. It is important to provide a valid email address at the time of your registration.

14. If my antigen or PCR test results are positive, what should I do?

We suggest that all our guests notify the Concierge of the results of their test in case they are positive on any of the tests, in this way we can provide them with the necessary attention and care for a speedy recovery.

In case of traveling with family or with a couple who has obtained a negative result, the companions may continue to enjoy their stay if their reservation remains valid.

The medical consultation has an additional cost at the time of requesting the service, which will be provided by the Concierge. The cost varies and is subject to change by external medical staff.

15. My companion or companions also obtained a positive result. Will we be placed in the same room?

Guests who have traveled together may stay in the same room if their stay was originally booked that way.

16. What will happen if only one person gets a positive result, and the companions get negative results?

In this case, the guest who has a positive result must remain in an isolated room without contact with their companions or any other guest of the resort.

Companions who have a negative result may continue to enjoy their stay if their reservation remains valid.

17. In the isolation room will I be able to enjoy all the services of the resort's all-inclusive plan?

The resort offers the following services in the isolation rooms:

  • Water, coffee, and tea
  • Sweet and savory snacks
  • Bathroom amenities available during the stay
  • Free high-speed Wi-Fi
  • Suite service menu with breakfast, lunch, and dinner service

Restrictions during the stay in isolation:

  • Guests are not allowed to leave the room under any circumstances
  • Guests with a positive diagnosis are not allowed to visit public areas such as swimming pools, restaurants, lobbies, bars, or cafes
  • Suite Service does not include alcoholic beverages

18. Do I have to stay at the resort on the indicated days in isolation?

It is important to follow the instructions of the attending physician, the Resort's Action Plan, as well as the official international provisions to prevent the spread of the virus.

Isolation stays at the resort are not mandatory and if you wish you can return to your city or country of origin, however, if your reservation is still valid and you do not wish to stay in the isolation room of the resort, penalty policies will be applied.

19. I will be traveling with my dog. Can my pooch companion stay with me in the room in case I am relocated to an isolation room?

The attending physician will determine if your dog, whether they be your pet or emotional support canine, can stay with you in the room. Otherwise, the Concierge team will notify your companions to better organize an action plan regarding your dog.
Service animals, or guide dogs, may remain in the room with you for as long as you need to remain in isolation.

20. The isolation will be offered in the first instance at the resort that you have booked, however, it could be the case that the isolation can be provided in some other property of ATELIER de Hoteles, or another hotel.

21. What should I do if my doctor says I need to be hospitalized?

In case of requiring hospitalization, the doctor will request an ambulance so that you can be transferred to a hospital in the city. We recommend that you contact your medical insurance or travel insurance to inform them of your diagnosis to further foresee any situation that may arise from the moment of isolation.

If you need to stay in isolation, it's also important to keep your family members informed and provide your insurance details in case you can't contact them directly.

The cost of the ambulance service should be paid for at the time of transfer, be it out of your pocket, from one of your companions, or through your own travel insurance or medical insurance provider.
